I am currently a third year student at Teesside university, studying a degree in mathematics. I am looking to continue my studies into mathematics to a higher level after attaining my degree and then to become a high level maths teacher.

I offer friendly, patient and effective math tutoring for levels up to college/university. I can drive so can offer in-person sessions around the Hartlepool/Teeside area, or I can do onlne sessions on Zoom, Teams or something similar.

Over regular lessons we can prepare for an exam or assignment, or you can give me specific topics you want to learn more about which we can study. In a typical lesson I would explain the topic with examples, we would take some notes and then practice until you can complete it yourself, returning to the topic every few weeks if regular sessions are required. I believe I am a very patient and friendly teacher, and that anyone can achieve their maths goals.

Availability: I am available most days and times as my university studies now take place at home.

Experience: Throughout the last year at uni I was a leader of a scheme called PASS (Peer Assisted Self Study), during which i helped a group of about 6 students studying through their first year at uni. This involved planning lessons, teaching a group of students new information as well as working in a team to solve harder problems.

I have tutored a year 11 student for about 8 months to help her pass her GCSEs. She began extremely unconfident, but sailed through her exams without a worry after the regular lessons. I have also tutored a year 6 student through her SATS exam. I have tutored three students for one-off sessions where they were mostly confident with the maths that they needed, but just needed a bit of help tying up the loose ends. Each of my students were satisfied with my help, however regular sessions are definitely more effective as I can learn what teaching style you benefit most from and where your greatest strengths and weaknesses are.
