I am a qualified and skilled maths teacher and tutor (PGCE Secondary Mathematics; MA Educational Leadership), with experience teaching learners of all ages and levels from primary to GCSE, and overseeing the training of over 300 online maths tutors.

I specialise in helping students gain confidence and fluency in maths through discussion, careful questioning and visual aids. I respond to individual needs to support students in developing real conceptual understanding. This makes maths simple and fun, and means students can explain what they are doing and why, so that they could even teach it themselves.

I focus on replacing maths anxiety with curiosity, confidence and enjoyment. Mistakes can often make students feel anxious or embarrassed, but they are one of the most important parts of learning. I help students embrace and harness maths mistakes, by using them as a guide to make excellent, targeted progress.

Availability: Afternoon and evening, Monday to Wednesday.

Experience: Over 5 years providing online and in-person maths tuition for GCSE, iGCSE, KS2 and KS3; 1 year training online maths tutors for an international ed tech company; 2 years teaching maths at a London secondary school, with observed lessons graded as `Outstanding`; 2 years teaching primary school maths and science in Thailand; 3 months volunteering as a Lead Educator with a refugee education charity; 1 year teaching English as a foreign language in Spain; 1 month volunteering as a residential maths tutor at a children`s home in India; author of research papers on adolescent leadership and empowerment.
