I have worked in education for over 30 years, both in the UK and in France. I have a BA Hons in French from Southampton University and a PGCE. Having taught French in secondary schools in England, I then taught English in France for over 20 years in further and higher education as well as in businesses. I always assess individual needs and abilities prior to beginning any language course, planning with the student the methods and content that will achieve their purpose. Wherever possible, I encourage natural language exchange throughout the lesson, and make every effort to help the student to experience the real pleasure of learning to communicate in the foreign language.
