Information about Lindie

I am a passionate and dedicated educator with a strong background in theoretical physics. Holding a graduate degree in theoretical physics, I am currently pursuing my PGDE (post-graduate diploma of education) to become a qualified maths and physics high school teacher. My journey into teaching started as a tutor during my university years, where I honed my skills in assisting students with their academic needs. Additionally, I gained valuable experience privately tutoring English as a foreign language 1 on 1 whilst living in Japan and Korea, allowing me to work with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Currently, I am employed in the pastoral and learning support department at a local high school. This role has provided me with real classroom experience, working closely with over 400 students. I am proud of the work we do in levelling the playing field for students with additional needs including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, Tourette`s, and emotional regulation issues. Through regular training sessions, I continuously enhance my ability to cater to the needs of students with such additional requirements. I am well-versed in the SQA (Scottish Qualification Association) curricula, which is currently taught in Scottish high schools. Keeping up-to-date with teaching methods and resources is essential to me, as I am committed to providing the best possible education for my students and education is my industry of choice.

In terms of tutoring, I offer my expertise in maths and physics to help students grasp challenging concepts and achieve their academic goals. With a deep understanding of the subjects and extensive classroom experience, I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment for my students. Whether it`s offline sessions at my home or their preferred location, or online lessons utilising my super fast fibre internet and advanced PC setup with webcam and microphone and access to many educational programs and resources, I am flexible in accommodating the needs of my students. Additionally, my experience tutoring in Japanese and Korean allows me to cater to non-native English speakers, further widening the scope of my teaching abilities.

I am deeply committed to creating a personalised tutoring experience that caters to each student`s unique strengths and needs. Recognising that every individual has their own learning style and challenges, I am motivated by the desire to level the playing field and ensure that all students have an equal opportunity to succeed. With my extensive experience in working with students with a range of challenges such as focus issues or finding social situations overwhelming, I am well-versed in navigating many idiosyncrasies and adapting my teaching approach accordingly. I understand that different individuals have diverse ways of processing and retaining information, and I am dedicated to finding the most effective strategies for each student. Collaboratively problem-solving and embarking on this important learning journey together is something I truly enjoy. Drawing from my own experiences, I have gained valuable insights and lessons that I wish I had learned earlier. Being able to impart this knowledge to students and help them progress further along their path brings me a tremendous sense of fulfillment.
