Information about Moyo
I have a passion for Maths and get a buzz out of helping others to excel in the subject, especially where the student didn`t initially believe that it was possible. My passion for Maths rubs off on the students that I work with and motivates them to achieve high grades. I work hard on getting the mindset for success right as the majority of students can succeed academically, but it is their limiting beliefs that hold them back. It is my limitless beliefs that encourage students to re-evaluate what they thought was possible and begin to develop the mindset of a successful person.
I love to achieve success with my students and once this is passed on to my students, they will be able to keep going when obstacles inevitably creep in. Life for me is one of constant learning, so I am able to empathise with my students when things get difficult. At monthly MathsJam sessions, I sit down with some of the best Mathematicians in London and seek to find my area of difficulty, as this is how we progress.
My analytical nature is a by product of my desire for success. This involves continuously seeking to improve what I do each academic year, enabling next years students to receive an even better service than this year`s.

Experience: I have taught Maths full time in secondary schools in London and the South-East for almost a decade, presently working as a full-time tutor since leaving school in July 2018. For 4 years, I also tutored students privately alongside school teaching until school teaching became obstructive to tutoring. The number of students that I work with has grown year on year through word-of-mouth. In addition to 1-to-1 tuition, I have also worked with small groups of students for one of the largest providers of private tuition in the UK, running classes for them from Beaconsfield to Wimbledon. My ratings for the classes that I have undertaken with them have consistently averaged in excess of 4 out of 5.
I am highly knowledgeable of the new national curriculum which definitely gives me an edge in this fast changing educational landscape. Vast experience of marking examination papers for Edexcel also means that I am able to teach students about good exam technique. My membership of the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) helps me to make lessons engaging for students so that they enjoy Maths as well as achieve high grades.
Wide experience of teaching across the age and ability range means that I have come across most student types, enjoying successful experiences across a wide variety of students. This means that parents do not need to worry if they feel that their child is a bit `different`. I encourage children to embrace their difference and seek to turn what they perceive as a disadvantage into an advantage.
