Information about Harriet
I have recently completed my PhD at the University of Sheffield in the tissue engineering of bone, an exciting multidisciplinary area combining materials science and tissue engineering. I am currently employed as the chemistry technician at Penistone Grammar School.
I studied nanotechnology at the University of Leeds and obtained a 2:1 (Hons) BSc in 2010. This degree consisted of modules in chemistry, biochemistry, physics, materials science and electronic engineering. I completed a physics foundation year at Leeds in 2007, which taught up to first year degree level in maths and physics.
I have A Levels in history (A), physics (B) and biology (C), as well as an AS Level (B) in chemistry, obtained in 2005-6 at the Blue School, Wells, Somerset.
I am friendly, approachable, and will always do my best to help you meet your target. Whether you feel the need for extra support in order to perform to your full potential, or you are struggling to understand something your teacher or lecturer is trying to explain and feel the help you need isn`t there, I would love to help you. I myself have been in the latter situation and know how frustrating it can be to feel that you aren`t getting the support you need!
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have.
Availability: Weekday evenings.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have privately tutored Access Level chemistry and GCSE science. I have experience with running short term (2-3 week) lab placements for prospective PhD students, and with supervising undergraduate lab practicals. I have recently had a DBS clearance.
