I am a Maths Ph.D student at the University of Reading, have a First Class degree in Maths from the University of Edinburgh and have 6 years of teaching and tutoring experience.

I believe that anyone can be good at Maths. Unlike essay writing there is no "knack" to it - you just have to have practice, confidence and to have understood it properly. Usually, if you haven`t understood it then you lack confidence and you lack motivation to practice. If you have understood it then you become more confident and practising is easier. Therefore, I focus on making sure it is understood.

Tutoring is ideal because we can go over anything that`s not quite making sense and work through problems at our own pace.

Availability: Not currently considering new tutees because of an already busy schedule. Apologies.

Experience: I have been tutoring Maths for 6 years at all levels of school. As a final year undergraduate, and now as a postgraduate, I enjoy tutoring first-years in their tutorial classes but I still really like tutoring secondary school students.

I have trained to become a secondary school Maths teacher (PGCE, University of Bristol) but left to pursue further study. I still enjoy teaching and much prefer the one-on-one interaction of tutoring over the classroom.
