Experience: I have completed well over 200 hours of private tutoring including children of primary level, KS3, GCSE and A level. I have experience in a range of exam boards and I have taught all subject areas.
I worked as a tutor in school for 2 years doing lunchtime sessions with GCSE students helping them understand different topics, particularly chemistry and biology. I did 40 minute lessons working on homework corrections and teaching the pupils different unfamiliar topics and also answering questions that they had previously brought to me.
During sixth form, I also volunteered for a charity which worked with younger children with learning disabilities such as down syndrome and autism. I spent whole days on a one-to-one basis with children taking them out on different day trips.
As head boy I helped start a reading initiative for KS3 students, where older students would attend weekly 20 minutes meetings and supervise younger students reading. I oversaw this club and also partook in supervising each week. We received great feedback from all the younger students and also the older students helping.
