Information about Scott
I have been passionate about History and Archaeology for most of my life and have travelled to some pretty amazing sites. Having climbed the Mayan pyramid of El Castille at Chichen Itza in Mexico, taken in the views from the Pantheon at Athens, crawled into the mound of Maes Howe in the Orkneys, descended 144 metres underground to explore the mining industry, and visited many WWI and WWII battlefields, I am a strong believer in the power of experiential learning. About the importance of making connections between the documentary record and the physical landscape - about experiencing history in a wide variety of ways. History isn`t about memorising names and dates. It`s about understanding broad themes and making connections.
Availability: Very flexible, and available any day after 4:00pm and on weekends.

I am currently researching and writing a book on WWII. I like to get people working on primary source materials, and show them that history is important and can be exciting to study. I have led tours to WWI Battlefields in France and Belgium, given lectures on the Beaches of Normandy, and taken students into coal mines, caves, bunkers and tunnels to explore history and make a connection.
