In addition to my part-time role at a local college and at an International Study Centre teaching A-level maths, physics and, when required, BTEC engineering, I have been privately tutoring A-level and International Baccalaureate Diploma Physics and Maths. I have also tutored the Cambridge pre-U qualification, entrance exams and American School system SATS. A couple of times a week I coach juniors at primary level in chess.

Currently I am only doing ONLINE tuition. Under non-COVID-19 conditions, students can receive their tuition at my home in Byfleet, Surrey. I also travel to students when this is mutually convenient, in which case I generally ask for a travel fee.

My students typically come from locations in or around West Byfleet, New Haw, Cobham, Weybridge, Esher, Walton, Woking, Oxshott, Claygate and East or West Horsley.

Availability: Slots still available most days apart from Sundays.

Experience: ☺; Trained as a teacher at Brunel University and obtained a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education).

☺; Taught initially at Thames Valley sixth form college in Twickenham.

☺; Following a subsequent M.Sc. in CAD software design, took up a post as Training Officer in a computer timesharing bureau. Spent several years in the software industry, which included a spell mathematically modelling computer reliability.

☺; Returned in 2003 to tutoring maths & physics - mainly on a one-to-one basis.

☺; Obtained a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) plus a certificate in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) at Brooklands College in 2011.
