Hi! I’m Amy, a GCSE biology tutor. I am also a 3rd year medical student, and have achieved A*s in all my subjects at both GCSE and A level. I am 21, relatable, patient, and have a down-to-earth approach to teaching. Having taken the “9-1 grade” GCSEs myself, I am very up-to-date with current exam formats.

I will explain difficult concepts simply, and help you to understand them. If desired, I can incorporate exam and revision tips into our lessons to improve your confidence and success. I am passionate about study-skills. I can teach you to organise your time, and empower you to apply the principles of efficient consolidation, (spaced-repetition and active-recall).

Typically, I plan lessons around topics the student identifies as the most difficult, but also welcome more random questions and queries about recent classwork.

Experience: I have over five years of teaching experience, and have taught English language and literature, psychology, biology, and the EPQ.

I have also voluntarily mentored year 10-11 GCSE students. I am experienced in working with students of all ages from my role as Deputy Head Girl at my old school.

My time at medical so far has taught me excellent communication skills which I find helpful in tutoring, in addition extensive detail about human biology.

My qualifications include:
- All grade 8-9 (A* equivalent) at GCSE (9s in Biology, English language, physics, and art), and an A* HPQ (RS)
- All grade A* at A-level in biology, English literature, and psychology
- A* and full marks in dietetics and neurology EPQ
