Hello, my name Is Joe and I am an MSci Marine Biology with Oceanography graduate from the University of Southampton. I am passionate about teaching and helping people better themselves through learning. Science and Mathematics provide us with new insights into the workings of everything. My wish is to spread what I have learnt so I might convince you that STEM subjects are not something to put you off learning but something to change the way you look at the world.

During my second year of college, I tutored 3 As-level Maths students that were struggling to understand certain topics in pure maths and statistics. It was clear that they had the ability to succeed, it was just a case of working with them to find out exactly what the root of confusion was and then looking at it with a new perspective. I know studying can be frustrating, arduous, and boring (I`m a student myself) but I cannot stress enough that this doesn`t have to be the case.

I will try to help you as best I can through structured and informative sessions, working to break down difficult concepts into a series of simple questions and solutions. Tutoring allows a more tailored and personal way of teaching and I will try to help you find what best works for you. Always remember, you can only achieve what you set your mind to. Never stop learning!

Experience: I started tutoring as a volunteer in my second year of college where I would help a dozen or so first-year students with As-Level Maths.
Throughout my time at university, I taught part-time as a self-employed tutor, amassing over a thousand hours in maths and sciences from KS3 right the way to A-level across a range of exam boards (AQA, EDEXCEL, OCR, WJEC...).
I have also recently started to tutor online through a few schools, teaching GCSE Physics and Maths to small groups of students struggling to keep up with the curriculum following a tough transition over the Covid-19 pandemic.
