I am a University of Cambridge Natural Sciences graduate and currently completing a PGCE, with over 10 years of tutoring experience in Chemistry and Mathematics.

I have supported students across GCSE, A-level, Further Maths and IB programmes, including students aiming for top grades, Oxbridge interviews and competitive university applications. Many of my students have achieved A/A* grades, grade 8/9s, or made significant progress from much lower starting points.

I started teaching because I enjoy making difficult ideas clear. I am especially good at identifying where a student’s understanding breaks down and rebuilding it step by step.

I actively use evidence-informed teaching techniques to help students retain knowledge, apply it confidently, and understand the reasoning behind each method rather than simply memorising content. I also have excellent knowledge of the relevant curricula, exam specifications and assessment requirements.

I would describe myself as a clear, patient and analytical tutor. My aim is to help students understand the subject properly, improve their exam performance, and become more confident and independent learners.

Experience: I have over ten years of tutoring experience in Mathematics and Chemistry, working with students across GCSE, A-level and international curricula, including IB. I am also currently completing a PGCE, which has further developed my classroom teaching, lesson planning and understanding of how students learn.

I have supported a wide range of learners, from high-achieving students aiming for grades 8–9 or A/A* to students needing help with confidence, gaps in knowledge and exam technique. I also have experience supporting EAL learners, helping students access complex subject content while developing the language needed to explain their reasoning clearly.

I have extensive experience preparing students for public examinations and strong knowledge of exam specifications, question styles and mark schemes. In Chemistry, I have helped students improve their understanding of key topics, practical skills, calculations, written explanations and ability to link ideas together. In Mathematics, I have supported students with algebraic fluency, problem-solving, multi-step questions and more challenging exam material.

Alongside private tutoring, I have experience teaching and supporting learners in school settings and creating structured learning materials tailored to individual students. My experience has made me confident in adapting my approach to different learners while keeping the focus on understanding, independence and exam success.
