Information about Scott
I`m a secondary Maths teacher at an outstanding school. I`ve been teaching students for 2.5 years professionally.
My degree through Huddersfield University is in music. This allowed me to perform and train with some of the highest quality musicians in the country. Here I gained valuable knowledge about particular exercises on the guitar that unlock skills that students never knew they had.
Methodology:
First lesson is a great opportunity to find out what you want to learn and how much you already know. This also helps you to determine whether I am the right tutor for you.
From there we take it as you wish to learn. That could be learning how to play a particular song each lesson. It could be how to read tab/score. You may wish to train for an exam (practical, theory or GCSE). This part is completely up to you.
Availability: Currently I am available:
Mon - Fri: until 9pm (subject to calendar events)
Sat: 9am-5pm
These times may change. I will update as frequently as possible.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I am a fully qualified Maths teacher with 2 years experience tutoring students in a classroom environment at an Outstanding school. I work 1:1 with pupils on a regular basis to achieve the grades they need. The first session is in order for me to assess the ability of the pupil. This should help to see which key skills need fine tuning and where the student is already confident in order to use this.
I have a 2:1 degree from Huddersfield University in Music with my first instrument being the guitar. I am taking on beginners, students who have the basics down already and pupils who wish to fully extend their current performing prowess. That may include, but is not restricted to: Classical guitar, popular music or (my personal favourite) more specifically blues/rock/metal music.
I am more than happy to teach for electric or acoustic and will have instruments for pupils to use.
