Hi there! I`m Amaia and I`m Spanish, although I have lived in the UK for 5 years where I acquired a strange Spanish-Yorkshire accent which I`m actually quite proud of! As much as I loved living in the UK, I really missed Spain so I moved back home 2 years ago, although I brought a little bit of Yorkshire with me (my partner and some Yorkshire Tea) :)

Availability: Mornings, afternoons and evenings Monday to Friday

Experience: I have been teaching for over 8 years now. I started working as a Spanish language assistant in a secondary school in the UK in 2011 and ever since then I knew that`s what I wanted to do! I was meant to stay there only for a year, but ended pursuing my teaching career in the UK. When I finished my training, I went on to a full-time teaching job for 2 years. During this time, I taught private Spanish lessons to adults and children, too.

Back in Spain, I have worked as an English teacher for 2 years until 2018 when I decided to become self-employed and teach Spanish online. I teach mainly adults and couples who want to work or live in Spain or who just want to learn Spanish for fun!

My lessons are always based around conversation and I like to use speaking games and activities to practice grammar and vocabulary.

I try to make lessons as interactive and engaging as possible and connect with students through humour. I think having a good relationship with your students it`s the basis of good learning happening.
