Hi, my name is Chris and I am a qualified Mathematics teacher working at a secondary school in Fareham where I teach a range of classes from Year 7 up to Year 11.

I`m an approachable and supportive individual who aims to maximise the potential of every single student by offering a flexible approach to tackle the difficulties he or she experiences.

Tutoring Approach:

KS3

I provide a supporting role in their studies and can provide 1-1 teaching on topics they have covered at school. This may include helping pupils with their classwork/homework, recapping topics taught or even extending their current knowledge if appropriate.

GCSE


For pupils studying the GCSE course I focus on building a students resilience and confidence through constant practice of exam material. We will work on exam strategies as we progress and complete diagnostic tests to help identify areas which require support/development. This will also allow the pupil, yourself and myself to monitor progress over time.

Availability: Weekdays after 4pm.

Experience: I graduated from the University of Exeter with a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics and have been teaching in secondary schools for 3 years. I’ve worked successfully with over 300 students across the secondary age range including GCSE groups at both the foundation and higher level.

Over the last two years I have taught two classes preparing for their Edexcel Foundation GCSE exam as this is where my passion lies. It was a great experience and one I thoroughly enjoyed. I received lovely feedback by pupils and a TA who worked with me throughout the two years - "It was a real pleasure supporting that class over the past 2 years. They were quite a difficult bunch of students but you really won them round with lessons that were pitched at exactly the right level and with your sense of humour and enthusiasm. The pupils told me how much they liked you and I felt they had a lot of respect for you also".
