A graduate in Chemistry from the University of York, I have a passion for science and sharing knowledge. I teach with enthusiasm, empathy and patience, offering tuition both in person and online for Chemistry and Physics.
I provide tuition covering the following subjects and levels:

Chemistry: GCSE and A-Level
Physics: GCSE
Biology: GCSE

Exam boards: AQA, Edexcel and GCSE

Short-term or long-term tuition, up to final exams if required.

My goal is to inspire, guide and encourage students in science, enabling them to grow in confidence as they develop their knowledge and understanding.

I provide tailored teaching, taking into account the needs of the individual student. This enables us to identify and focus on areas that need further work. Use of past exam paper questions and marking schemes allows us to understand and develop exam techniques. I’ll always provide positive and constructive feedback.

My approach is to develop understanding of concepts and independent thinking, including using easy to understand analogies and practical examples. I have a good knowledge and understanding of neurodiverse needs, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD and auditory issues.

Availability: Monday to Friday, 9 am until 7 pm.

Experience: Currently tutoring a number of students for GCSE Physics and Chemistry. In the past three academic years I`ve covered the learning / consolidation of basic concepts, developing and applying key knowledge and understanding, encouraging independent thinking, reviewing answers from test papers to identify areas for improvement and further learning and preparation for tests / mock exams / final exams (including extensive use of practice questions and past papers).

Experience of teaching Combined and Triple sciences at both Foundation and Higher level.

Excellent record of pass rates and good grades obtained for my students.

Prior to tutoring, my career of 30 years as a Chemistry based professional included working as an analytical / development chemist followed by wide-ranging experience in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs.
