I am an experienced and creative, Oxford-educated Psychology and Sociology teacher. I have worked as a successful Head of Social Sciences at an Outstanding school in Hertfordshire, with a record of strong A-Level results. I have extensive subject knowledge and the ability to teach exam technique in an understandable way. This has resulted in my students achieving 10% higher in their examinations on average than students from other schools.

I am a hard-working individual, and I expect the same from my tutee. I will create tutoring sessions which are enjoyable and innovative, and will challenge my tutee to learn at a rapid pace. The focus will be on the tutee putting in the work to learn more about the subject, and understand how to achieve top marks in exam questions.

Alongside excellent subject knowledge, tutees should expect to learn new and fun ways of revising, exam "shortcuts" to help them reduce the amount they need to learn while still allowing them to achieve full marks, and exam techniques to give the answers examiners are looking for.

Experience: In 2015-16, my Psychology tutee improved from an AS E-grade to a B-grade overall by the end of A2.

In 2017, I took on a Sociology tutee after Easter. She moved from an E-grade in her mock exam to a B-grade overall in her final exams, which was the highest grade she had ever achieved in the subject.

In 2017-18,my Psychology tutee improved from a D-grade in their mock exams to a B-grade in her final exams.

These students achieved this through hard work and dedication to their learning, as well as their willingness to listen to my advice and guidance.

I have taught students of varying abilities over the past 10 years, in schools in Leicester, Norwich, Bolton, Hertfordshire, and Greece.

I am qualified to teach Psychology at A-Level and GCSE.

I have extensive experience teaching the AQA exam board, and have also taught the WJEC (now Eduqas) and OCR specifications. Furthermore, I am fully aware of the new specifications for Psychology and Sociology.

A large part of my success as a teacher is due to the one to one support I provide my students outside of lessons. This means that I have vast experience of tutoring students and getting them to overachieve in A-Level Psychology.
