Information about Jonathan
Being born in England, Epsom, I moved to the South of France at the age of four and went to a French primary school until Year 7, learning to speak, read and write French fluently. I moved to the International School of Nice for my secondary education and passed my IGCSEs and International Baccalaureate. I then moved to the United States to attend Boston University to complete my BA in English. After spending a year back in France, I returned to England to achieve my PGCE in English and gain my Qualified Teacher Status.
I have written creatively since the age of twelve and am currently working on completing an epic fantasy novel I will hopefully publish. I love reading the classics, fantasy and science fiction novels as well as being an avid player of Dungeons & Dragons, running several campaigns for friends as well as students at my current school. I love music of all kinds and play piano, bass guitar and flute.

Experience: As of last academic year, I have been Head of Key Stage 4 from 2021-2023 and Head of English from 2018-2023 at a private school that specialises in supporting students with SEN, especially those with Autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and anxiety to name a few. I have had extensive training and experience teaching students with differing needs, understanding how to tailor my teaching to best support each individual.
Before starting my work at this school in 2016, I worked in a large comprehensive school in North London from 2011-2016 where I learnt to manage my teaching load, admin tasks and behaviour management. I learnt to refine my teaching craft at this school and was deemed nearly Outstanding by Ofsted.
Before training at the University of Bath for my PGCE, I worked for a language organisation in Nice, France, teaching English to French learners of all ages, including kindergarten sessions, primary schools, private one-to-one course help, one-to-one conversation sessions, and adult beginner/intermediate lessons.

Jonathan is the most passionate, caring and entusiastic tutor ever. He understands his students and genuinely wants them to do well. He gets to know his students first to understand their way of learning to best help them. My son looks forward to his tuition and I can see his improvemnt in such a short period of time. As a parent, Im so grateful I found Jonathan. I highly recommend him 100%.
