I am currently a Head of Religious Education in a London school and due to my skills and experience have taught many examination subjects successfully. In the most recent set of results our Religious Studies GCSE cohort of 160 students achieved 47% 9-7 and 89% 9-4; and my Religious Studies Yr 13 class of 13 students 4 achieved A grades, 7 Bs and 2 Cs. When they started the course the average target group for the group was C and we achieved an ALPS score of 1 (OUTSTANDING). In 2017 the results were similarly successful with our GCSE cohort of 141 students achieving 63% A*-A and 94% A*-C, and an ALPS score of 2 for Year 13

Experience: I have been teaching for 23 years in secondary schools. I started as a Head of History but after six years took the post of Head of Humanities and Head of Religious Studies in a more academic school, which I am currently still working at. Due to the extensive teaching and management experience at my school I have taught KS4 and 5 History; managed and taught KS5 Government and Politics; KS4 Geography;but primarily KS4 and 5 Religious Studies. One of main skills has been my ability to stretch all kinds of students, regardless of their starting point.
