I am bright, cheerful and enthusiastic teacher with over 25 years experience in the classroom. I will work both with you and your child to make sure the work covered is appropriate to their needs and that it supports work done in school.

I can offer tutoring in your home or other venues where convenient, such as a local library.
The first session will be free so we can meet and discuss your needs and arrange suitable teaching approaches.

Availability: I am available Mon/Tues/Weds/Thurs/Fri during the day and early evening. I may also be available at some weekends.

Experience: I am bright, cheerful and enthusiastic teacher with over 25 years experience in the classroom, teaching in two schools over the whole Primary age range. I have a degree in history from Lancaster University and a PGCE from Charlotte Mason College of Education in Ambleside.
I taught full time for a few years before having our children, when I then decided to work on a part time basis teaching a class as part of a job share.
Over the last year or so I have been working as the forest school lead at my school, taking groups of children out to some local woods for some time each week where they get the chance to enjoy some free, creative play without the constraints of a classroom. During these times they try den building, trail adventures, using flints to make fire and toasting marshmallows. These are positive experiences which have had positive links with attainment.
More recently, I have been working at an after school club and have also been a tutor for the National Tutoring Programme - helping groups of children catch up on school work missed due to the pandemic.
