Information about David

Fashion Design students are like chalk and cheese! Some take to working in the digital domain with ease, some struggle massively. I have worked with the entire spectrum of abilities, from level 1 to level 7 (Masters) and have something to offer for all. I have over 10 years’ experience working with fashion and graphics students and understand all the pitfalls, frustrations and problems students may encounter on the way to reach their goals.

Let me help you easily transfer your creative ideas into a digitally reality! Have you found yourself left behind the group and have a deadline looming and you simply don’t know where to start? Perhaps you are reasonably competent already, yet want to enhance the professionalism your portfolio work in preparation for professional development modules, job placements or even that scary first job interview – I can help you every step of the way.

I would use the first session as a consultation meeting. All I ask is that you have some hand drawn designs already in place (don’t worry if you’re not the best drawer in the world!), and that you have some idea about the direction you would like to go with them be it technical flats, more expressive digital croquis, or simply developing professional digital concept boards.

I understand £20/hr may seem like a considerable investment for a student, but the time you will save and the skills and confidence you will gain in the long run will be worth it. As a bonus, I will also provide a pass in order for you to access many hours of online video podcasts covering fashion illustration techniques using both Illustrator and Photoshop which I produce for my current cohort of BA Fashion Design students.
