Information about Maya
Knowledgeable, professional and dedicated tutor, recently graduated from LSE in MSc International Political Economy (IPE), tutoring in Politics, International Relations, IPE, History, Sociology and Political Theory.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have an undergraduate degree in Politics and International Relations (First Class Honours with Outstanding Achievement Award, and one of the highest dissertation marks in my annual cohort) from the University of Manchester, and a Master`s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. I am hoping to return to Manchester to do a PhD in IPE.
Particular areas of interest are IPE, politics of finance, critical theory, Middle Eastern studies and economic history, although my study of politics spans seven years, and thus I am well-versed in all areas.
With regards to teaching experience, I worked as a tutor whilst studying my undergraduate degree for around 9 months, tutoring one individual in Politics and International Relations who gained a First Class Honours at the end of her second year . I have also worked as an academic mentor at the University of Manchester, taught English to refugees since 2017 for two charities, the Harbour Project and Learning Station Project, and taught English to young people aged 4 - 19 in Cambodia.
I frequently tutor on a more informal basis, amongst friends and associates.
