Hello and welcome!

Studying automotive engineering at university was fascinating because it brought together different technical subjects and practical applications.
In preparation for exams, working through tough past paper questions and fully understanding the concepts was a very effective way to fill gaps in my subject knowledge.

I do also believe that such knowledge is hardly useful without a practical application, so I always try to use real-life situations and examples as the foundations when creating lesson resources. In my opinion, this makes us appreciate our understanding more, as we see where it can be put to use outside of the exam hall.
In turn, that builds confidence by showing us that our knowledge has real value.

Therefore, a mix of resource types and teaching techniques would feature in your lessons, depending on your chosen subjects.
A great example is use of online graphing calculator apps to help visualise equations in maths and physics, making underlying concepts more intuitive to understand. We will also use real-life examples appearing in areas of interest chosen by you in order to demonstrate these concepts in practice.

For engineering, relevant case studies and problems I have encountered on my university course and during my professional life so far will be used where possible to enrich your lessons.

As for German, you can expect to see examples of the language being used in authentic materials and documents which I have kept since my industrial placement near Düsseldorf. These include items such as flyers aimed at domestic tourists visiting the area, and even an apartment rental contract to help you grasp and use complex sentence structures, grammar and vocabulary.

You can expect a teaching style which is relaxed and informal, yet focused and professional. I am always open to constructive feedback on ways to improve my approach.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing bass guitar, keeping up my level of German and learning Japanese.
