Experienced, Caring and Supportive History & Classics Tutor

I am an experienced teacher and tutor with 15 years of teaching experience, including 5 years as Head of History and 5 years of private tutoring experience.

I teach History, Ancient History and Classical Civilisation, and can support students in all three subjects up to A level.

With 15 years of classroom teaching experience and 5 years as a Head of History, I have developed a deep understanding of how students learn and what is required to achieve excellent results. My tutoring experience has also taught me the importance of adapting my approach to each individual student — there is no “one size fits all” approach to learning.

I am a caring, patient and supportive tutor, but I also have high expectations and a clear focus on progress. I work with students to identify their strengths and areas for development, building their knowledge, confidence and exam technique step by step.

I have a strong track record of achieving excellent results and positive outcomes, and I have received very good references and feedback from previous tutees. Seeing a student grow in confidence and achieve something they initially thought was beyond them is one of the most rewarding aspects of tutoring.

Ultimately, my aim is not just to help students achieve excellent grades, but to help them become confident, independent and enthusiastic learners. I want every student I work with to finish their tuition feeling that they are capable of achieving more than they previously believed possible.

Availability: I am available every Sunday from 9-12am.
I can tutor during the day for students who are home educated or have free periods in their school day.
I will also be available a few evenings during the week for instant tutoring.
