Information about Karim

Hello Parents and Students,

My name is Karim and I am a qualified Tutor at Tutor Hunt. I have a passion for teaching and helping students achieve their goals. I invite you to please read the testimonials from satisfied parents who have seen their children improve their GCSE Sciences with my guidance.

I have studied both Chemistry and Biology at A-Level and have in the past taught the subjects to family and friends. I have mentored for over 35 years at the GCSE level!

Having personally taught my daughter, (who passed ALL 9 GCSE!), I`ve realised what students are finding difficult, and how to approach the teaching so that pupils can find the subject both interesting and easier to comprehend.

Many school teachers rely on textbooks, notes, and other materials to teach their students, but they do not explain the concepts clearly or interactively. This makes it hard for you to understand and enjoy the subject. You need a 1 to 1 Tutor who can tailor the lessons to your needs, clarify your doubts, and make the topic easy and fun. This will also prepare you for further studies in the Science subjects at A levels.

Often students don`t ask the teachers questions in class as they are too afraid, or feel it would disrupt other students. Some may not get a chance, as not all teachers encourage pupils to say: "Any questions, please ask me?" They are often embarrassed about being intimated by other students.

One of the benefits of having a One-2-One Tutor is that you can ask me anything, no matter how confusing it may seem. I understand the challenges that many students face in School. Don`t worry, I will explain it to you in a way that you will remember the concept forever because I will break it down to the basic level.

As your One-2-One Tutor, I am here to support you in your learning journey. You can ask me any question, even if it seems difficult or unclear. I know how hard it can be to grasp new concepts and skills. That`s why I will make sure to explain everything to you in a simple and clear way so that you can understand and remember it for a long time. I will help you build your confidence and knowledge from the ground up.

I also provide useful summary notes on the key topics studied together with past exam questions at GCSE with full solutions so that you see your progress. These are sent by email. Furthermore, I can email your parents/guardians to let me know how you are doing if you prefer. I create a WhatsApp group with students and parents at the student`s discretion.

I recently taught a student how to remember the 1st seven key elements that make up the composition of the human body i.e. OCHN... etc. The approach was easy and I think he will never forget the sequence because there was some funny logic applied e.g., my name initials applied - Lol!

If your GCSE Exams for Science are this year and you are finding some of the concepts difficult, seek a Tutor Hunt immediately to improve your grades. Please DO NOT just leave it to the last-minute revision! You won`t be able to cram so much information! Make this year work for you. Some popular schools/colleges may refuse to take students who achieve < 5 in GCSE subjects to study A Levels in sciences due to competition! Do you really want to jeopardize your career?

Some students often assume that I still have Year 2 to catch up on the subjects, but in reality, more material is taught and if you haven`t established the foundation in Year 1 of GCSE, then the second year will be more difficult to comprehend. Please do NOT make that mistake.

I also aim to go through any changes in the AQA/Edexcel/OCR exams. Some topics may be excluded! Taking additional Tuition is vital to learn the pertinent topics. In just TWO HOURS an entire topic can be mastered and you will have caught up!

I`ll also provide useful tips on how to organise your study material in a logical sequence. This will be discussed when you commence tutoring.

As the saying goes, if you enjoy the concepts, you will pursue the subject further.

I wish you every success in your future studies and career and look forward to working with you.
Take a look at some of the positive comments I have received.

Availability: * * * Winter / Spring 2024 Offer * * *
* * * Book 2 Hours of Tuition in One sitting for ONLY £60 instead of £70 * * *
That`s the equivalent of just £30/Hr, saving you £10

Available: Please Ask Me on Chat. I may have slots available over the Winter / Spring period.

Apologies, but due to parking restrictions in many West London surrounding areas, weather conditions, rising fuel costs, etc... I may be unable to visit your location, although in exceptional circumstances I have done so if the location is very near e.g., up to 5 miles. This also keeps my fees very competitive.

To ensure the quality and effectiveness of my Tuition, I have decided to make 2 hours the minimum duration for each session. You can reach me through Tutor Hunt to arrange the details. You can also benefit from a special offer of paying only £60 for a 2-hour session, instead of £70. That means you save £10 and pay only £30/Hour! This is a very reasonable price compared to other Tutors who charge double for a one-hour session.

I apologise for any inconvenience, but I cannot provide one hour of Tuition visits anymore due to the number of topics that need to be covered, the PDF e-materials I provide, and the travel expenses. However, you are welcome to come to my home if you prefer a shorter 1-hour session.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: Teaching Chemistry and Biology at the simplest level so pupils can understand the core level and enjoy the subjects. I have been doing this for over 35 years!

Many of the topics in say science subjects/maths are never quite fully explained in school or are quite complex.
E.g., Here are many Fun Key Questions. Have a go :-)
1 Aluminium Oxide is Al2O3, Sodium Sulphate is Na2SO4. If CaCO3 is OK, why is NaCO3 not right?
2 Why do Metals conduct electricity and non-metals do NOT?
3 Why is Fluorine, the most reactive gas at the top? Yet the most reactive metal is at the bottom in Group 1!
4 How do Enzymes work and why are they a necessity in a living organism?
5 Why does the inside of a Greenhouse get hotter?
6 A Girl weighing just 60 kg will crack a tile with her high heels, yet a 1-Ton elephant will NOT!
7 An element emits just a Beta particle but it`s Atomic No. increases by 1. Why is this?
8 Water boils at 100C yet in a pressure cooker you can achieve temperatures of 120C. How come?
9 The lowest temperature possible is -273C. Yet there is no limit to the highest temperature?
10 Why not use Gamma rays (shortest wavelength) to view detailed Atomic Structure?
11 By increasing the pressure, you can increase the temperature. What law proves this?
12 How much Nitrogen gas do we need to produce 10 kg of Ammonia (NH3)?
13 How do plants take up minerals when there`s an insufficient amount in the soil? Diffusion won`t work!
14 Why is a Double Bond C=C weaker in Ethene than a single bond C-C say Methane CH4?
15 Why does DNA need RNA to carry out Protein Synthesis?
16 Why does A-T always pair and T-G always? Hint: Equal Ladder Rung on DNA!
17 Why do Red Blood Cells lack a Nucleus?
18 Why does a single-cell animal like Amoeba not need a transport system?
19 Why does Ice float at the top when it should sink as most substances are denser when solid?
20 How do certain insects manage to walk on Water, surely, they should sink!
21 If the Earth rotates, why not go up on a hot air balloon ride and wait for your destination to arrive!!
22 If like charges repel, what keeps the Protons + Protons together in the Nucleus?!
23 Why can`t you pour pure water onto Red Blood Cells; it`s harmless, right?
24 Why do farmers prefer using Paraffin heaters inside the Green House instead of Electric heaters?
25 What`s wrong with Global Warming, surely more Heat is good in Winter, right?
26 In Electrolysis, a low AC Voltage would NOT be suitable, why is a Direct Current always used?
27 A Colour-Blind Male gets married to a Female (not colour-blind). They have 4 children ALL boys. Surprisingly NONE of the males are colour-blind. Are the couple just lucky?
28 A Female (not colour blind) marries a Normal Man (not colour blind!). Yet they have a baby boy who sadly is colour-blind. How could this possibly happen or is it just bad luck?
29 Why does Water have a very high Specific Heat Capacity? What are the benefits?
30 In Ammonia production, a High Pressure and Low Temperature are preferred - Why?
31 Gravity pulls all objects down. How does a plant manage to get water up the roots against gravity?
32 Our Heart has thicker walls (3 X greater) on the Left Side, than the Right Side, why is that?
33 Electricity on Power Lines (Grid) is transmitted at High Voltage rather than Low Voltage - Why?
34 Photosynthesis makes Glucose, yet we test for Starch. Why do plants convert excess Glucose to Starch?
35 Shining a Green Light on a Plant is NOT recommended! Why is that? Why do Plants look Green?
36 How is the Earth protected from Harmful Ultra Violet Light?
37 Even though we have Sunlight, what`s keeping our Planet-Earth extra warm and cosy?

I hope to make sense of these and many other science concepts. My aim is to simplify these with clearly worked examples. You will grasp the subject matter logically and achieve outstanding GCSE results. You`ll never get a chemical formula wrong once you`ve learned my method. Many of the science mysteries will be unlocked, which your teacher will never explain!

I also teach Maths and Physics at Key Stage.

Tutors Response :

Dear Mandeep,
Thank you for your generous words and encouraging feedback on my Tutoring for your daughter. Chemistry is a fascinating subject that requires a firm grasp of the Atom, Bonding, Valency, Formula, and other concepts. I am delighted to see that Parina is advancing well and getting ready for her future GCSEs. The use of your Smart TV was a brilliant idea to improve the revision sessions from my laptop.
PS, the Tea and snacks were delicious, and my gratitude to your family for making me feel at home.
Sincerely,
Karim
