Information about Arjun
I am an enthusiastic and passionate Mathematics tutor with seven years’ worth of experience in one-to-one and group tuition. Professionally, I have prior experience as both a Data Analyst and a Data Engineer. I have a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Birmingham, and I have experience as a teaching assistant at both secondary school and University.
I am currently offering both in-person and online lessons to students studying GCSE Mathematics, A-level Mathematics, Further Mathematics and University-level Mathematics. I cover all the different exam boards based in England. For online lessons, my hourly rate also includes an extra 10-15 minutes free of charge to accommodate the change in setting and adjustment from a face-to-face lesson. I developed an increasing passion and interest for Mathematics when studying the subject at university – something that is displayed when I teach the subject to my students. I am a patient and friendly tutor who is very sympathetic towards the student`s needs and ability. I make use of various software and manipulatives (like PowerPoint and GeoGebra) to make my lessons interesting and approachable. My primary aim is to help the student achieve their maximum potential in Mathematics and to help them understand the subject.

Experience: • Personal tutor for over seven years covering KS3 Mathematics, GCSE Mathematics, A-level Mathematics, Further Mathematics and certain University-level Mathematics modules.
• Mathematics Teaching Assistant at a school in the West Midlands between November and December 2020.
• Student teacher and teaching assistant of secondary Mathematics at two schools in the West Midlands area in the academic year 2019-20.
• Postgraduate teaching assistant between September 2011 and December 2016, covering a variety of undergraduate mathematical modules.
• Mathematical Tutor at the Academic Skills Centre (University of Birmingham) between October 2015 to April 2016.

For the past two months Arjun has been supportive in online sessions for my sons Maths modules which are part of his course at university. My son has told me that Arjun has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable in the areas discussed, & his thorough preparation prior to the sessions is clearly evident. Also, Arjun is very reliable & thoughtful in laying the foundations for my son to now independently continue leading up to revision for his Summer exams.
