Information about Robyn
I am a qualified science teacher with 9 years` of experience working in London secondary schools.
I have also been tutoring for the last seven years and I am proud to say that all of my students have either achieved or surpassed their target grades. Please read my reviews for more information.
I began my career as an SEN teaching assistant so I am confident in my ability to work with students with additional needs. I then began teaching full time in an inner London secondary school whilst completing my PGCE, in which I achieved a distinction. After my training year I was offered the position of Head of chemistry which I have held for the past 5 years.
I have also been employed as a GCSE and A-Level exam marker for several years. I have literally marked thousands of papers! So I know the most common mistakes students make, and the topics they find the hardest. This allows me to pinpoint the areas to focus my attention, allowing even the most able students to improve.
I have developed my own PowerPoints and collections of exam questions for the AQA GCSE specifications and the AQA and OCR A-level chemistry specifications. I am happy to share these resources with you to support your learning.
I mainly teach GCSE science and A-Level chemistry classes. However, I also have experience tutoring KS3 science and maths, or science prep for 11/13+ exams and IB chemistry.
I have recently started teaching GCSE science equivalency testing for trainee teachers. I have a range of PowerPoints and exam questions that are tailored to this course that I can share with you to support your progress.

Robyn helped my daughter by giving her feedback on a chemistry assessment and my daughter found the session very useful. She was very engaging and my daughter seemed to warm to her straight away. My daughter and I are very pleased and impressed.

Robyn is very structured and makes sure student is learning. We didn`t have her for long however from the few lessons she thought our son I could see that she is well prepared and knowledgable. I gave average stars for the site as it doesn`t allow you to cancel a lesson if less than 24 hours even if it is still within the working hours ie before 5.30pm.
