Information about Robyn
I’m a qualified science teacher with over 12 years of experience working in London secondary schools, and for the past two years, I’ve been teaching A-Level Chemistry at a sixth form college.
Alongside classroom teaching, I’ve been tutoring for the past ten years, supporting students from KS3 to A-Level. I’m proud to say that all of my tutees have met or exceeded their target grades—please see my reviews for more details.
I began my career as an SEN teaching assistant, which gave me a strong foundation in working with students who have additional learning needs. I went on to complete my PGCE—achieving a distinction—while teaching full-time in an inner London secondary school. Following my training year, I was appointed Head of Chemistry, a role I held for five years before moving into part-time teaching and private tuition.
I’ve also worked as an examiner for both GCSE and A-Level papers for several years. I’ve marked thousands of scri pts, giving me deep insight into common student errors, challenging topics, and how to improve exam technique. This experience helps me target the areas where students can make the most progress—even high-achievers.
To support learning, I’ve developed a full set of teaching resources, including PowerPoints and exam question packs for AQA GCSE Science, and both AQA and OCR A-Level Chemistry. I’m happy to share these with students as part of our sessions.
While I mainly teach GCSE Science and A-Level Chemistry, I also have experience tutoring:

Robyn helped my daughter by giving her feedback on a chemistry assessment and my daughter found the session very useful. She was very engaging and my daughter seemed to warm to her straight away. My daughter and I are very pleased and impressed.

Robyn is very structured and makes sure student is learning. We didn`t have her for long however from the few lessons she thought our son I could see that she is well prepared and knowledgable. I gave average stars for the site as it doesn`t allow you to cancel a lesson if less than 24 hours even if it is still within the working hours ie before 5.30pm.
