A language graduate with a BA (Hons) Modern Languages (German and French)and 15 years experience of working in translation/localisation teams in a corporate environment. I am a new tutor keen to work both with adults perhaps wishing to get a good grounding in the German language or further their basic knowledge, and also children and young adults needing extra support and encouragement in achieving their school or personal goals.

Thanks to my excellent teachers and lecturers, my experience of learning language at school, college, and university was inspiring, enjoyable and rewarding, though undeniably tough at times! This nurtured my passion for language and I strive to provide the same experience to my students so that they equally may love the language learning experience.

Availability: Monday to Friday 9.30am - 2.30pm. Evenings 7pm - 9.30pm

Experience: I left University in 1997 with a BA (Hons) Modern Languages (German and French) with European Economics. I then went on to work for the localisation/translation project management team of a software game developer, working with translators worldwide. I was promoted to head up the International Territory localisation team before moving onto new challenges in 2002 again in localisation, my area of speciality. Here I stayed for 10 years working in a multilingual team on major global localisation projects for a mobile device manufacturer. Since the end of 2012, I have carried out freelance German to English translation and proofreading projects.

My corporate experience has enabled me to develop a professional attitude in all aspects of my work life, as well as enhancing my experience as an `educator` much of my time was spent educating internal teams as to what translation is all about!
