Information about Chris
Hello, and thanks for taking the time to look at my profile.
My name is Chris. I live in Rose Green near Bognor with my wife, Lorraine, two sons, Thomas and George and our Labrador, Doogie.
Three words that sum me up as a person are: friendly, approachable and fun.
Three words that sum me up as a teacher are: inspiring, patient and professional
I am confident that I can help your child to succeed, however, here are a few things about me that may help you decide if I am the right person:
Firstly learning should be a positive experience. All to often, children become demotivated by feeling that they can`t succeed or keep up. My approach to teaching is incremental. Small steps and challenging but attainable goals will build confidence and re-engage your child with their learning.
Secondly, really knowing something is different from following a set of instructions. I will help your child to develop a thorough understanding so they are able to confidently use and apply their learning in different contexts.
Finally, it`s all about the individual. I can offer tailored teaching and resources regardless of your child`s needs, pace of learning or learning style.
I hope this information is useful for you in making an informed choice about what`s best for you child.
Availability: Evenings and some weekdays by arrangement (for children currently being home schooled)
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have been a primary school teacher for the last 14 years, and during this time have gained a wealth of experience and expertise teaching primary aged children. I have taught all year groups across Key Stage 2 (7-11) and as such, have up to date knowledge of the curriculum, best practice and teaching methodology. I have prepared children for end of Key Stage tests (SATs) and also worked with small groups and individuals with specific needs. As well as being a classroom teacher, I am also a fully qualified Level 3 Forest School instructor.
