Information about Caroline
I am a teacher and a tutor with over 25 years experience in a variety of educational settings including secondary and special schools. I also mark as an Examiner for a GCSE examination board. I am up to date with methods of teaching Mathematics and enjoy the different processes that can be used to support my students progress with their learning at their pace.
Availability: I have no availability at the moment but will do from June/July onwards.

Experience: I am a hardworking, punctual and reliable teacher who has a wealth of experience. I have worked successfully with children with additional needs eg, ASC, ADHD and other needs. I have tutored my own son (with medical needs) to achieve his GCSEs early in a variety of different subjects including Maths. I receive positive feedback from students, parents and carers on my diligence and dedication to the individual student.
I use many different methods of learning that suit the individual to progress and develop a personalised learning plan with the learner so they and others are aware of the targets that are able to be achieved and extended. I use all forms of learning to enable students to feel engaged and in control of their pace of learning. I do like students to be encouraged to have a ‘can-do’ attitude and this is an area that I positively encourage in my tutoring. By breaking down topics into easier sections, deeper understanding and application can be achieved and then applied to different areas of the maths curriculum.
I can tutor students from KS3, KS4 and Adult Learners.

Caroline was quick to respond to us in our hour of need. She managed to squeeze my daughter Bella into her already busy work diary. She`s very friendly, patient & genuinely cares about the progress of her pupils. I would high recommend her.

My Yr10 daughter struggles with Maths - she just doesn`t think that way and gets overwhelmed in class. She has a mental freeze even when presented with the most simple of questions. This was becoming a source of tension at school and her performance was seriously degraded. One earlier test she scored 4% as a result. Her immediate reaction is a full block "I cant do this !" However, after only two sessions with Caroline - we see a quantum change in her understanding and more importantly her confidence. We are trying to align the topic matter Caroline covers to that which is being covered in class. The result is a remarkable turn around in confidence and ability. In her most recent test, she scored 78% and the school teaching staff are thrilled by her new found approach and confidence. Caroline has fully understood my daughters challenges, both in her understanding of Maths and her confidence levels and her tendency to go into freeze mode. Caroline has shown patience and attention. She has fully understood and focused on exactly the challenges that my daughter is facing. Its not just teaching Maths. Utterly pleased at how this is working out and we will continue with Caroline`s support through to exam time.
