Information about Farrah
I am enthusiastic about teaching and hope, once I have completed my studies to gain a position as a University lecturer.
Having achieved A grades in Histoy, Politics, Drama and a B in Classics at Gravesend Grammar School I went on to study Ancient History at the University of Exeter where I gained a 2.1.
I have recently finished my History MA at Nottingham University, achieving a distinction.
I am now a part time PhD student at University College London.
Availability: Evenings from 6pm
Weekends
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I worked at Charnwood Museum in Loughborough between June 2012 until April 2013 where I led student groups in tours and interactive lessons on the First World War. In addition I assisted with workshops and arts classes held in the museum rec room.
At Exeter University I led a number of study sessions and seminars with other students on a variety of topics. While at Nottingham University I led seminars and lectures on topics within each module.
at UCL I have worked as a guest lecturer on the universities outreach programme providing year 8 students with a taste of university style teaching.
I also worked as part of a group to set up a student day for year 9 students focusing on the history of medicine. Both of these events were run as part of the universities higher education and access programmes.
Prior to this I worked as a Ski Instructor at Gillingham Dry Slope from December 2004 until January 2007.
