Information about Rhian

I have graduated from Durham University with a First Class Masters in Astrophysics and have been prоfessiоnаlly tutоring physics аnd mаths fоr five yeаrs.

I feel passionately about education, using my time at Durham University to combine physics and maths with education to identify the most effective ways of teaching amongst GCSE and A level students - this involved supporting women in maths/science which is work I am very proud of. To succeed as a tutor, I believe that it is incredibly important to make the topics relevant to the pupil and to encourage self confidence, always bearing in mind that each child learns and appreciates learning in different ways.

I have recently graduated from university and as a result I think that I am in a good position to relate to pupils and put their learning into context with what is happening in current research. I also feel that I have strong interpersonal skills that will allow anyone to feel at ease and hopefully see progress in their work.

If you wish to discuss the above in more detail or have any questions then please feel free to reach out - no question is a silly question after all!

Experience: Graduated from Durham University with an Astrophysics Masters, First Class Honours. I have experience tutoring various levels of maths and physics exams across 5 years, especially GCSE. During my time at Durham University, I worked on a couple of studies which combined physics with education, giving me a great insight into effective ways of teaching maths and physics amongst GCSE and A level students.
