I have 28 years experience of teaching and have taught students aged 6 to 14 in both Primary and Secondary schools. I have a passion for teaching and am devoted to my students.

My initial and ongoing approach to teaching children is to bond with them, to make them feel at ease and know that they can be relaxed and have fun in lessons. I`ve found over my years of teaching that this kind of attitude really helps my students to feel comfortable in their learning.

I am offering lessons in English (Phonics, Handwriting, Grammar, Comprehension, Writing skills and verbal reasoning) and Maths (KS2, KS3 & Foundation GCSE prep); including 11+ entrance exam preparation. I also offer lessons for students who experience dyscalculia.

My tuition involves an initial assessment where I use age and curriculum specific resources to assess each student`s learning abilities and challenges. From there I plan a program of learning specific to individual needs based on National Curriculum requirements and each child`s abilities. Lessons then follow this pattern with continual assessment that is ongoing. I challenge students to study conscientiously, creatively and to develop concentration skills.

I consider myself a patient, hard working, supportive teacher with keen concerns for the educational development of the student`s I teach.

Experience: I have worked as a class teacher from the mid 90`s until 2011, in Primary and Secondary Schools; also in Special Needs Schools.

Since September 2011 I`ve worked exclusively as a private tutor providing a wide range of students with one to one tuition in English and Maths.
