Information about Aaron
With over six years of experience tutoring students of secondary school age, taking many through their GCSEs and A-Levels, I have been able to identify and help with the specific challenges all of them have had. I believe that making the sessions engaging and fun and being incredibly patient and understanding is the key to helping students improve their self-confidence. I have worked with students of all abilities including children with SEND and in all cases, taking a friendly approach and really understanding them has been the key for me to help them achieve their potential.
I have recently finished a Masters in Robotics at the University of Bristol and I am a Physics graduate, achieving a 2:1. With my passion for these subjects, I have the ability to confidently teach up to A-Level and make excellent (debatable) Maths and robot jokes.
Building a rapport is essential to everything I do and so the first few sessions will be to understand the specific challenges the student is having and getting to know them as a learner. Further lessons are then tailored but could consist of:
- Teaching in small chunks, followed by some short questions on topics they are learning in class.
- Doing more in-depth teaching about concepts the student hasn`t understood in school, using visual aids and other methods to get it to `click`.
- Homework help and exam practice.
- Revision planning, techniques, and exam strategies.
Other than robots and teaching, in my spare time I am a fine artist, having done many commissions and getting an artwork into the RWA`s 2021 Open Exhibition.

Experience: I have been tutoring Maths and Science for over six years, both in person and online, helping secondary school students of all ages with their specific difficulties. I have taken many students through their GCSEs and A-Levels and have assisted them in achieving their goals through improving confidence, organisational help, and specific subject-focused knowledge. I have tutored students of all abilities, tailoring my approach depending on the level of assistance required.
In addition to private tutoring, I was also a Learning Support Assistant for two years at a local secondary school where I ran support lessons for children with special educational needs such as ADHD and ASD. In this role I taught English and Maths in order to supplement traditional classroom learning and give these students the essential skills they needed.
