Information about Richard

I was trained professionally at the Birmingham Conservatoire and I have worked within a wide range of musical styles from Classical to Popular and Music Theatre. I work with all age groups and pride myself in being professional, imaginative and completely flexible.

I believe that the development of a good, solid technique is vital to progression (whatever your aspirations are). I teach my pupils to be discerning listeners and I like always to back up their learning with a theoretical and contextual understanding of the repertoire they are studying.

I am happy to take on beginners as well as advanced students and I can travel to you, if prefered. I can work comfortably within a range of styles, but my specialism is classical.

You can also hire me as an accompanist or soloist for church services, weddings, funerals, concerts. Please contact me for a quote.

Experience: 14 years in Secondary music education and working with choirs, instrumentalists and one-to-one tuition. I play piano, keyboard, organ, recorder, flute and I sing tenor. I am also a composer.
