No. 1 thing you want from a great tutor? Knowledge. I have written 6 GCSE history text books for the GCSE elite series of books and 2 A-level textbooks. I have also written a GCSE revision guide and an A-level exam technique guide due for publication in September 2024.


I studied Economics and Politics at the University of Bath as an undergraduate, and recently gained a distinction in my Masters degree in Modern History from Canterbury Christchurch University.


My main areas of academic expertise are in the following modules for GCSE. The first three I have authored textbooks for:

Availability: I have considerable flexibility and can teach in the morning, afternoon or evening 5-6 days a week.

Experience: I love history and politics and after 25 years in the corporate sector I moved into teaching. I taught history and economics recently in a private school in Hampshire, teaching at both GCSE and A-level before focusing on authoring school text books and online tutoring.

I have taught modules covering Germany, Medicine, Civil Rights in American, WW2, WW1 and general British History from early Anglo-Saxons through to the English Civil war.

Academically I have also written on Russia, Ireland, Fascism, Empire, Germany, international relations and the cold war and revolutionary France.
