Information about Clemence

Bonjour! I am a qualified and experienced French tutor from Paris. I have been living in London for the past two and half years.

What to expect during lessons :
- A Parisian who does not take herself too seriously (it is possible)
- Quite a few (hopefully funny) jokes
- Sarcastic comments about how annoying (but really fun...) French grammar is
- Attempts to make conjugation a cool thing (I know some really catchy songs)

And more seriously ...
Being extremely passionate about my language, I always try to share this excitement with my students.
I will adapt my classes to your specific needs and work with you on the skills you want to acquire, whatever they may be.
I usually create my lessons with a mixture of textbook documents and authentic material (videos, news articles, etc) and I am obviously open to any suggestions or requests from students.

Availability: Very flexible : mornings, afternoons and evenings (weekdays)

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I have been teaching French to teenagers and adults for four years.

TEENAGERS :
I worked as a teaching assistant in three different schools in England so I have had the opportunity to help students prepare and achieve the best in their exams (GCSE, A-level, IB). I am aware of what they need to know in terms of speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
I am proud to say that the students I have supported got great results with the GCSE`s new spec (2018), often better than their predicted grade.
I have supported SEN students by adapting the curriculum to their needs to make their language learning journey an enjoyable one, away from frustration.
I have also been helping Native French kids who sometimes struggle with their spelling and grammar, having lived in England for most, if not all, their life.

ADULTS :
Need French for work? A holiday? A French partner to impress? Or just because? Look no further.
I have taught adults of all levels : complete beginners, intermediate, advanced and everything in between with a wide range of goals.
I have helped people with exam preparation (DELF, TEF), communicating with their French colleagues (via emails and oral conversations), grasping the subtleties of French literature and discovering new vocabulary, getting ready to start a new job in the energy sector in France, understanding legal and finance news articles and even writing up their wedding speech!
