I am an experienced English literature and language teacher who is passionate about working with young people and encouraging them to achieve their best, challenge themselves and express themselves effectively. I am now focusing solely on tutoring after recently moving to a new city with a young child. I am skilled at planning sessions to suit all levels of ability as well as keeping students engaged and encouraging them to ask questions.

I love teaching English and hope to inspire the same enthusiasm in the students I work with. I offer detailed feedback on students’ work and coursework, which is in line with the latest advice from the exam boards. I create and adapt various revision materials and collate links to online resources to support students in their wider learning.

Availability: Weekdays from 4.30pm

Experience: I have worked as an English teacher in London secondary schools for eight years, teaching at all levels: Key Stage 3,
GCSE and A-level. I have experience of teaching multiple exam board specifications and keep up to date with the latest advice in education. In my time as a teacher I have worked with all abilities and tailored lessons to suit the different needs and learning styles of my students. I regularly moderated exam answers and coursework and completed training with exam boards so I have a good understanding of the criteria for different grades.

In my previous school I ran the student council for a number of years as well as setting up the school’s first debate club. I also completed an accredited leadership course research the benefits of mindfulness on students’ wellbeing and academic success.
