I am a passionate and approachable tutor with three year’s experience primarily involved in teaching Maths as well as English in both 1-1 and group settings. This has also allowed me to gain significant exposure to the 11+ and KS3 exams in regard to how to confidently prepare for them. I have recently finished my BSc in Biomedical Science and am currently looking to take on more students.

Working with students of varying ages and ability, my approach to tutoring revolves around a tailored experience with an initial focus on tackling the student`s areas of concern to build their confidence. This also provides a positive driving force in their tuition as they become more comfortable in their understanding and approach to the topic in question. This process gradually progresses toward a more comprehensive overview of the student`s curriculum, as well as focusing on refining their exam technique through past paper questions. This aids in reinforcing their subject knowledge via regular feedback, and helps acclimate them to the exam process.

Of course, students are encouraged to bring forward any problems they have encountered to consolidate their understanding and develop a complete grasp on the subject matter as we go along.

Availability: Lessons can be arranged both during the week or on weekends, and I am happy to offer online lessons if that is preferred.

Experience: I have worked as a tutor with Explore Learning Ltd, teaching both Maths and English to pupils of varying ability from the ages of 4 - 14 years, covering KS1 through to GCSE. This provided the basis upon which I developed my skills as a tutor, coaxing students to become more confident tackling problems head-on and fostering an enthusiasm about the subject in question.
In addition, my time spent as a private tutor gave me much exposure to exams such as the 11+ and KS3 SATs where exam technique and preparation became an increasingly important part of the tuition curriculum.
