I have been teaching and tutoring for all my adult life, working for Suffolk County Council. For the last 21 years I have specialised in 1:1 tuition in the core subjects of English and Maths. I have successfully prepared young people for GCSEs, enabling them to attain the grades that they need to move on to the next stage of their lives.

I really enjoy working with young people and have stayed in touch with most of my past students.

I particularly enjoy teaching students who find learning difficult, and love restoring confidence in their own abilities.

I have 2 sons of my own, one who is academically gifted and another who is on the Autistic Spectrum, so I am used to working with young people across a range of academic abilities.

Experience: I have been teaching since 1983, and after 18 years in the classroom, in 2001 I branched out into one-to-one tuition. I currently tutor for Suffolk County Council and am therefore up to date with most GCSE English and Maths exam boards.

I like to build confidence in students who are just below the grade they need to progress to the next level, or just below the important grade 4.

I have access to past papers in most subjects and teach the students exam technique and how to tackle questions in order to boost their confidence.

I OFFER ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR NOVEMBER RE-TAKES IN MATHS AND ENGLISH.

I am experienced in teaching KS3, having taught in Middle schools for 18 years.
