## Information about Igor

Currently at Cambridge University as a 1st year undergraduate studying Engineering, I have worked as a KS3, GCSE and A-Level tutor for the past few years. I am very passionate about engineering and the science/maths it involves and already have many stories to tell to engage whoever I teach!

I received A*A*A*A* in the new, reformed linear A-Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and also have A*s in these subjects at GCSE. I also achieved 94% in the FSMQ Additional Maths qualification, and was awarded gold awards in both Maths and Chemistry Olympiads.

Outside of academia, I am a college level rower and tennis player and love the buzz of being out and about. I am also diploma standard on the cello.

**Availability: **Other than my current tutor cohort, I am generally available.

**Willing to travel: **10 miles

**Experience: **I have been working as a tutor for many years, with both local and international students. It is a pleasure to see the improvements I am able to help the students realise.

I am also an accredited tennis coach, and therefore have years of coaching experience with children of ages 3-18. This has given me a very strong foundation in how to best deliver lessons for each student, employing flexibility and developing confidence amongst my students.

As a tutor, I value the importance of cultivating a genuine interest in the topic. But ultimately for students directly working towards public exams, a focused knowledge-set built on the relevant specification is required. I work with students to ensure they have a full understanding and complete knowledge required of them.

At the end of every lesson, I review the content of that lesson and do the same at the start of the next lesson. This gives plenty of chance for questions to be asked. I also take the chance to do a mini-quiz every few lessons to map progress and do on-going assessment of the strengths/weaknesses of the student.

Igor is a knowledgeable teacher in both Maths and Physics. Our son had only one lesson (and could not continue), as Igor had to return to University in October. Igor has made huge difference to the confidence of our son in both subjects. He clearly explains the topics in an easy - to - understand way. We would strongly recommend Igor for GCSE and A levels maths and physics.
