I am passionate about education and find it immensely rewarding to work with a tutee to release their potential. I place a strong focus on key principles in essay-based subjects, including how to structure an essay, form an argument and prepare for exams. I approach each tutee on an individual basis, assessing their personal strengths and weaknesses, and paying close attention to the ways in which they learn to help achieve the desired grades.

Experience: I have worked as a private tutor in English for over 3 years to pupils of different ages, covering Key Stage 3 to A Level with a 100% success rate in achieving target grades.

I have also provided tuition for GCSE and A Level in Religious Studies, History, Philosophy and History of Art. Many of these subjects require the same skills of critical analysis and source comprehension, that are often neglected or superficially taught in school.

I develop lessons based on a long-term plan that addresses the tutee`s individual strengths and weaknesses, focusing on building a core understanding of the subject. This can then be easily applied to a variety of questions, building the tutee`s confidence in approaching exams.

I also aim for pupils to enjoy their tutorials - learning is most effective when it is engaging, the brain doesn`t retain much when it`s bored!
