Information about Raasib
A enthusiastic and engaging PhD and PGCE qualified tutor with a passion for instilling a love for science in others.
I qualified with a PhD in Developmental Neurobiology from UCL in March 2023 before which I studied Neuroscience at undergraduate level and Gene and Cell therapy at Masters level at UCL.
I have tutored for almost 10 years predominantly in the sciences at all levels throughout the academic ladder (KS1 through to University). That said, I also teach, Mathematics and English to GCSE level which I have a good competency of doing. I have also helped with various personal statement applications through UCAS for a wide-range of degrees, can help in the interview process, have tutored extensively for the 11 plus entrance exam, SAT exams and also entrance exams for Medicine and Dentistry, the UKCAT and BMAT.
For me, the aim of being a tutor is to ensure my students are able to push themselves in order to maximise their full potential. My extensive experience means that I offer lessons that are enaging, organised and professional. My enthusiastic and friendly approach ensures I am able to develop a strong rapport with my students so that they can be confident and look forward to their lessons.
My holisitc approach ensures that I am able to adapt to students of all ages and abilities. My flexibility enables me to context my teaching style and vocabulary to meet the needs of the student. I am driven on the idea that every lesson has the ability to inspire and transform a child and that is why I commit all my time and effort into making this a reality. I make sure I am accessible at all times and ensure I provide direction and constructive feedback during and after lessons.
I hope to inspire the next generation of children enabling the student to excel in whatever they ought to become and reach.

Experience: I completed a PhD in Developmental Biology of Birth defects at UCL Great Ormond Street Hospital. In my academic studies to date, I achieved A*A*A (Biology, Chemistry and Geography) at A-level and 6 A*`s, 5 A`s at GCSE level. After completing sixth form, I went onto study B.Sc. Neuroscience at UCL, which was followed by an M.Sci. in Gene and Cell Therapy. I achieved Honours in the First-class and distinction in these qualifications, respectively.
I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and currently hold a lectureship position at Brunel university and the position of Teaching Associate at UCL. Here, my role entails supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students with their academic studies, delivering seminars and lecture material.
I have great understanding of the syallabus of all exam boards, AQA OCR and Edexcel. Exam boards are not a problem, as a tutor it is on me to ensure the student understands what is required of them and to make sure they know how they will be assessed. If grasp of knowledge is there, the student will be able to apply themselves to anything.
