Information about Mel

Have you experienced a lack of motivation or confidence in the classroom? Do you fear you have fallen behind and are overwhelmed by concepts ever more complex? Absolutely everybody has the potential to enjoy and succeed at mathematics. I知 a Master`s graduate in Maths-turned-superhero whose power is to help you in this endeavour. I知 comfortable teaching for KS3, GCSE and A-level. Also happy to teach all undergraduate level year 1 & 2 units and Pure Maths units for all years.

*** My method ***

In lesson 1, we値l get to know each other, discuss your needs and set plans. We値l also do a bit of fun and unusual maths at the end.

Thereafter, I will plan well-structured lessons around your knowledge gaps. We値l go through the lesson material at your pace. I will answer all your questions with clear and enthusiastic explanations until you are satisfied with your understanding. I can draw analogies and make connections with other topics which will entertain you.

Every 2 or 3 lessons, we will set attainable goals. They will guide you through your learning process and help you to continuously improve.
Along the way, you will gain studying and problem-solving skills. You will find more confidence and enjoyment in the difficult subject that is maths.

*** My key strengths ***

- My experience (detailed below).

- My unconditional love of mathematics and its teaching. I致e happily spent hours and hours helping fellow university coursemates through homework and revision. I even talk about maths to my friends and family (sometimes against their will).

- My deep knowledge of maths acquired through hard work. Though I had a B in Further Maths A-level, my Master痴 year mark was 91%. I know how mentally challenging the learning process is.

- My empathetic personality which has helped me develop strong and long-lasting friendships over my life. I want to see everyone happy and successful.

*** Not sure if we are a good fit? *** Give it a go with a ス-price trial lesson.

Experience: 6 years of relevant experience:

- Amongst many assignments, I tutored tens of GCSE students after school with The Tutor Trust. These students feared they would fail their GCSEs. They lacked confidence and understanding of the concepts. But they were willing to work hard! They improved greatly through our sessions. All they needed was encouragement, regular attainable goals and clear explanations going to the heart of their misunderstandings.

- I was a intern in the Maths Dpt of Chorlton High School for 4 weeks. Children were aged 11-16. I was a teaching assistant but also led full-sized classes on the fun topics of origami geometry and binary numbers. I realised the difficulties children encounter in the chaos of the classroom. They often just want your attention and I learned how to give them the helpful kind.

- Tutoring independently tens of students of varying origins, age and personality, through platforms such as Tutorhunt. Lessons took place in the home and online.
