I am a Masters student studying MSc Mathematical Modelling at University College London (UCL). Prior to the masters I had obtained a first class honour in BSc Mathematics at Royal Holloway University of London in addition to achieving A* both in A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. Due to my academic background I have an extremely strong foundation in all areas of pure and applied mathematics as well as being entirely determined in helping others to achieve their full potential.
I have been privately tutoring for approximately just over 2 and half years which has overall consisted of over 400+ hours of tutoring experience, dealing with numerous students of different mathematical caliber.
Past experience in tutoring has taught me that there is no standard method that is suitable for each student, however there are a few techniques I use to ensure that the student is completely engaged and focused which in return allows the student to learn the material more effectively. For example:
I provide quizzes regularly at the start/end of every lesson in order to reinforce the concepts and materials tackled in our current/previous lessons. Moreover after every section/chapter, I present the students with an exam-style question so that the student becomes enlightened with the style and format of questions set. It will also reveal any confusion or difficulties they may be facing within the section in which I will address.
I believe that repetition and appliance of concepts learned are vital for internalising their understanding which will prove crucial during their examinations. Being a current student myself in the current education system as well as gaining success in the modern educational system, I`m well aware of the latest modifications introduced by exams boards and the methods required for students to achieve their goal.
