The on-going impact of the Coronavirus situation has led many to reach out for support in understanding A Level Chemistry. I am keen to help with covering topics that students need extra guidance with.

I am the Chair of Examiners for International A Level Chemistry (Pearson Edexcel) and a teacher of over 25 years experience. I have also co-authored an A Level Chemistry textbook and reviewed several others. All of this means that I have a deep understanding of exactly what is required to succeed at A level Chemistry. A number of my students have achieved an A* so I have a proven track record of success at the highest level.
The fees that I charge are not the cheapest but reflect the depth of experience and understanding that I can provide. As I write the exam papers and oversee those who mark them, I know exactly what is required by students to achieve their full potential.
Please note that I am not allowed to tutor students taking the Pearson Edexcel specification because I have seen and written the exams that those students will sit. However my exam insight and exam tips are obviously transferable to the AQA and OCR specifications.
In conclusion, I love to share my passion for chemistry and want to instil that in the future generations.

Experience: I have been marking exams for over 25 years and writing exams for the past 10 years. This has given me an excellent insight into the examining process and what is expected of student answers. I am confident that this knowledge and understanding of the exam marking process can enhance student performance. The precise wording of questions has great meaning and when grasped correctly results in answers addressing the necessary marking points. It is my experience that this process can make a real difference by improving results by at least one grade. It is particularly relevant when trying to achieve a grade A or A* where it is vital to gain every available point and to avoid making any `silly` mistakes.
Students regularly tell me how effective I am at explaining chemical concepts and ideas. I have previously been recommended for the Salters prize for Chemistry teaching and when observed by senior managers/Ofsted the feedback has always been very positive.
I am a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and keep up to date with recent developments.
