Jessica

I am an experienced tutor with a background in GCSE and A-level tutoring. I have a BSc First Class Honours degree in Anthropology and I am fluent in French. Teaching is a great passion for me and I have enjoyed seeing great improvements in my students` abilities.

My approach aims to build up confidence in my students, while challenging them in a fun and gentle way. Mistakes are part of learning and students will never be made to feel small for making them - we will correct them and improve on them together. I personalise my lessons to suit the student`s learning style, goals, and interests - to avoid a stuffy, book-heavy classroom situation. As pedagogy is a great interest of mine, I am always trying to keep up to date with innovative teaching methods.

Experience: I have several years` experience tutoring learners aged between 5 and 25, covering many subjects including English, Maths, Science, EFL, French, piano, and even art. I have been an ESL tutor since 2014, working mainly in Italy and France. I also worked in a tuition centre in St. Albans whilst studying at university, where I tutored children between 8 - 16 in many academic subjects. I also worked in a high school in France for one academic year as a language assistant.
