Hello!

My name is Shannon. I am a Secondary School English teacher of 4 years working in the Staffordshire area. I specialise in the AQA Literature and Language exam but can teach to any exam board required. I have extensive knowledge of KS3 and KS4 curriculums and also teach A Level English Language at sixth-form. I have been graded as an outstanding teacher and have continued to perform at that level throughout my career.

I am an experienced tutor with previous students improving by 1-2 whole grades within 2 months of tuition.

My methods as a tutor are revision based and will provide students with material they can use at a later date when it comes to revising for exams. The resources I create and use are accessible to students of every ability to ensure there are no barriers to learning. GCSE level students will spending time working through past exam papers with tutor-led discussion. We will work on these during session time and students will be expected to complete a small amount of homework so that we can mark and grade their paper the following session.

Availability: Monday-Thursday evenings and Saturday/Sunday mornings dependant on weekend availability.

Willing to travel: 8 miles

Experience: I studied English at University, followed by two years mentoring maths and English at GCSE level in a secondary school. I completed my training year to be a secondary English teacher and I’ve been teaching English Language and Literature since.
